It seems that the compromise in this case may be to keep some of the new merges but bring back the video forum in general section.

Atleast that seems to be the direction I am gathering based on the feedback here. Please respond.

I'm totally for merging sections together by theme (model/paysite, member pics/vids, arts, general pics, general vids, requests(?), celebs/fashion models), that makes sense and makes it easier to focus on sections of interest, but merging general pics and vids just does not work as you have to then dig around each thread to work out what's what. At least with models, members etc. I know who/what will be in the thread, but that's not what happens with the general threads.

The concept is no different to tumblr, twitter, snapchat, insta, even ** or feebs. They all mix everything into set feeds of activity but they still make sure that there are clear delineations and filters on who and what is being posted.

Requests are still there. Only 3 forums were merged

I'm only one person, one opinion, but for me, the only part of the entire forum of interest to me was the video section. Its the only reason I visit this site. Merging it with another busy section is basically the same as hiding it from me. So yes please bring it back. Much appreciated! ;)

We are taking all feedback and giving it real consideration. Just know all perspectives are important to us. We greatly appreciate the feedback.

Personally, the reason I preffered the old style was that I was only interested in a few threads so it was nice and easy to go to 'general videos' and see only a few threads having been updated so what I wanted to see was more or less right at the top. It's the hassle of trawling through endless threads that I'm not interested in to get to what I want that bothers me. I never really saw 'general videos' as a purely videos category anyway, it was just a place where everything I liked was. Obviously this is only my take on the situation but I'm sure people would like some kind of category system (not necessarily pics vs vids or whatever) even if it only reduces the time finding what you came for. Also, did the 'pornstars weight gain [Hardcore]' thread get deleted or just moved?

ok, in restrospect this post was more or less uneccessary and far too long - sorry ^_^

The distinction between general videos and pictures section was muddy, but it was still a distinction.  General Pictures was already too active for me in the sense that I don't have time to wade through all the topics.  The last thing that forum needed was to have another forum folded into it.

@S77 I can confirm I'm just like the above poster (apart the Lucy Collett thread), and I appreciate you de-merging the videos forum.

I think you will all find that the General Video forum is back. [...]

Ok, no disrespect, but this makes absolutely no sense. Look at "Curvy Women Picture Compilation": There are plenty of threads dedicated to specific women. In these threads there are pics and vids in the same amount, e.g. "Nadine Jansen". You will find plenty of these threads in this sub forum.

Now take a look at "General Videos". You'll find threads dedicated to specific women. What's in these threads? Pics and vids in the same amount, e.g. "Katie Cummings". And again, plenty of these threads can be found in this particular sub forum.

So, what is the thing both sub forums have in common? Threads, dedicated to women. People posting in ether of these forums don't care if it's the pic- or the vid-forum. They make their posts to contribute to certain themes, they don't care about the media they post. So why on earth do we separate two forums which (at a closer look) share the same content?

Looking at the posts in this thread, where users complain about the changes, I think their problem is not the organization of the forum, but their inability to use the "Activity Streams" to their advantage. There is no easier way to keep track with the content I like to see, without having to dig trough the whole forum by hand.

So please, organize the forum with sense and put things together which belong together. Don't organize the forum to please some inflexible low-posters, who aren't interested in the forum as a whole and are to stubborn to use the forums functions which really would solve their problems.

And thank you for all your efforts!

I see where you are coming from. Actually that was my thought Also and personally I agree.

But apparently there are folks who ONLY want to see videos. While it’s true that the content is mixed the video section ensures there is at least a video. Each forum contains two types of threads look below.

gen PICTURE forum

  • threads with pics and vids
  • threads with only pics

gen VIDEO forum

  • threads with vids and pics
  • threads with only vids

the aforementioned is the distinction that matters so much for folks. Thus no sorting through pic only threads to find threads containing vids.

Sure, but by checking only the vid forum, they miss all the cool vids hiding in the pic forum... Not to forget the cool vids in the fatcelebs forum, the cool vids in the plus-size models forum, or the cool vids in the women of curvage forum... This is not (only) a media sharing site. While it's truly part of the intent, it isn't it's only purpose. Curvage is so much more than that.

EDIT:

And to be clear: Personally, it doesn't bother me that much. I use the activity tab to check all unread content, cause I don't want to miss a thing.

how about this proposal, the case for more "subforums", something like.. :

Public figures- basically the same as celebrities, but merged with the models section. Anyone who goes by their real name and makes their personal life public goes here. Basically use the legal definition. Both get decent activity on their own but combined I don't think would be overwhelming. Renaming this would also eliminate the complaints/confusion over if this Z-lister nobody qualifies as a "celeb".

Private figures- needs a better name but in essence this is the general section in spirit. People who want should have their personal identities protected. That doesn't necessarily mean that their online alias and blog should be kept hidden, but obviously facebook/ real names should NEVER be revealed unless they are a public figure.

Then, you would make a couple "subforums" under this header, I think most people fall under these categories with little overlap

  • Youtubers- people who use video streaming platforms. I don't know of many others besides youtube. Maybe camgirls should be included? Pornhubers? Vimeo-ers? Is that a thing?
  • Tumblrers- people who do the shortform blogging thing. Same with youtube I don't know what else that people still use that's similar. Wordpress? lol
  • Instagrams, Snapchat, Twitter, etc.- sorta unrelated grouping of social media but the trend these days is that if you have one you have all three, or there's a lot of overlap at least.

Thoughts?

I think the first part is good and can be handled by upgrading our descriptions.

The second part I have questions. Why do we want to align our structure around social media?    Need to better understand the motive and benefit

That's just how I would do it if you were going to go with a "break up the busier forums" approach. Giving the other possible options more thought and consideration helps the process.

Say if there's too much overlap and disarrangement with the Pictures and Videos sections, maybe that could be a solution.

It could also encourage more scouring, content, and threads with those things as the focus. Consider this thread buried at the bottom of the site with very few participants:

If you had a forum/subforum (I'll let you figure out what I mean, idk the lingo) that was a dedicated Tumblr forum, more blogs would be given the attention they might deserve. It def beats a generic link dump where you don't even know what the hell you're clicking on.

You can kinda encourage more desirable thread creation/posting behavior this way as well. People are more apt to seek out new youtubers, new instagram models, new tumblrs when you narrow it down this way.

This is just my observation on how the internet has shifted these days. It pretty much boils down to Youtube - Tumblr - Instagram

People are confused by forums now?

What is the world coming to. Social media has rotted brains. I am so glad I don't use those really.

Sorry I'm late to the party

I don't understand why Familiar Faces was merged with pics and vids, but plus-size models remain separate from fatcelebs... wouldn't familiar faces have been better served by being merged with these two forums? I really don't mind the pics and vids merger, it was a little difficult to differentiate the two at times anyway, but the familiar faces confuses me.

In general my biggest problem with the mergers was it makes finding the threads I checked regularly in the 'less popular' forums much harder to find now because these merged forums are now over-saturated with content that a single days worth of updates and posts now take pages to go through.

That's just my two cents but I do have a question...

Where was the announcement of the upcoming changes? I understand the administrators discussed it privately, I take no issue with that, but to make changes as drastic as the ones taken without notice to the community... I'm sure you can see why that was jarring to so many and where there is so much discussion about 'confusion'. It's nice that I see I've only completed 33% of my profile after all these years of being a member every day I log in now, but that space could have been better used to notify me or link me to a thread where I could see what and when everything was changing.

Was there a post made for upcoming changes that we all missed? In general I think this transition could have been handled much better and instead of getting feedback after the fact, perhaps it would have been better to get it up front even if people disagreed. Perhaps next time large scale changes are going to take affect post a notice in an easily accessible area that it can't be missed. If you did that and I missed it I'm sorry I didn't see it, but also, where was it?
