Also after the War in the economy wonder years she was successful and managed to stay a popular singer in Germany. In the mid 70s she took a much younger lover for her satisfaction and it seemed that with the young lover the caloriebombers discovered Evelyn as target. ;D It didn't take that much time and the former slim Evelyn Künneke blew up like a balloon. :thumbsup: ;D Enjoy the pics gentlemen, picname is the year they have been taken. That double chin in 1975-3 has a significant wobble, and you can see how she is really heavily strapped up to manage her shape. And it starts in 1955 where she has to screw herself into those tight fashion dresses, there were no alternatives back then. As a leading Hollywood star in the 40's she was constantly battling her weight and the ballooning finally got her fired from MGM in 1950 In 1951, at 31, she made a triumphal come back on the concert stage. I read in a biography once that she had to be strapped up so heavily in girdles to fit the show dress, that she could hardly breathe and her friends feared she might faint through singing. When she came off stage she was sweating and panting from exhaustion but somehow managed to go back in and receive her applause. She slimmed down some for "A Star Is Born" in 1954, but only a year later she broke all records and blew the scale. Now she was really beefing up, and in 1959 she was so heavy, that the gossip press commented on her waddle. In the following decade she slimmed down, unfortunately and remained slim until her death. Best known for playing Sandra on the shows "227" (80s) and then Lisa on "Sister, Sister" (90s). She is also the first African American to win an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. "227" was a must-watch event for my family and I always remember the men practically drooling whenever Sandra entered a scene. Even when Jackée put on weight, I would hear them say "Ain't nothin' wrong with that. Girl's still fiiiiine."
